Day 2 of our tours started off with a bit of texting to each other in the back seat…”he’s taking us to that place we told him we didn’t want to go!”. Again, he was right; the view was breathtaking, a bit overwhelming in size, beauty and of course, heat. It was the only time my iPhone has overheated and shut off (without being in the direct sun). Luckily, Gordon got the rest of the pictures. The sheer height of the dam made me a bit wobbly but I made it out to where Gordon was scaling the sides of the top ladder for the best shots. Opened in 2012, it consists of 2 dams 75 meters/246 ft high, and the earthen dam 48.5 meters/149 ft high. On the way to our next stop, Taymoor took us to his local favorite Foodstuff store nearby, loaded us up with cold water and snacks, and introduced us to his all time favorite snack, Omani chips. He has good taste.
