We got really lucky with our tour guide, Taymoor. He was friendly, upbeat, bilingual and a very good driver. He also took us to places we had not heard about, and they turned out to be some of our best memories. He suggested this museum, and it was difficult to even find information on it because it is so new. Another vision of Sultan Qaboos’ to create this project, completed after his death and beautifully executed. One of the best exhibits was the history of the formation of Oman, which we were especially drawn to given our interest in the rock formations in the mountains. You just cannot capture it on camera, but there are so many different layers and it creates a stunning landscape. We spent hours in this museum, with some of the best technology we’ve ever seen to create the exhibits.
