We heard so much about this hotel in Kuwait our expectations were high. The drive in dusk from the airport disguised the stunning beauty of Muscat’s landscape. It looks like the roads were carved out of the mountains. The highways are well maintained and uncomplicated. After a 30 minute drive from the airport through hills and valleys you arrive at a magnificent lobby and feel transported to another world. Almost like you’ve entered the most extravagant Arabian tent in the desert. We were greeted with Omani coffee and fresh Omani dates, delicious. The walk to the room seemed to take forever, but it actually put us in easy walking distance of the pools, Gulf of Oman and restaurants. Again, the room was spectacular. Balcony with table and chairs, lots of space and of course, the fabu Nespesso machine! Gets my vote for best bed, linens and pillow award for this trip. The resort is comprised of several sections, we stayed in Al Bandar. While this section is normally reserved for adults only, the closure of Al Waha (for families) combined all guests at our section. We only really noticed a big difference on the weekend, and the kids here are really cute and entertaining.
