We got lucky with Bukhari House, it was only around the corner from the hotel. Great authentic Omani food, with only a brochure as their menu and plastic covering the tables for easy cleanup. We went for the 2 most highly recommended dishes, Chicken Bukhari and Chicken Mandi, with a side of chana dal and raita. You get a fresh bowl of chicken broth standard with the meal, and a salad plate with jarjeer (local green similar to rocket/arugula), onions and fresh lemon.  Their bread was the best of the breads we tried in Oman, fresh out of the oven and crispy (drooling, again). Of course the portions were so generous, we couldn’t even finish. Two of us ate for a total of $15/10 GBP.
